Spatial Inception

Paintings by Daniel Mullen, research into the formulation of space as a possibility:

Constructing the Horizon by Daniel Mullen

"My recent works are not a direct representation of existing architecture. The point of departure comes from the deconstruction of thoughts and memories. Meaning is then derived from a common understanding. At the same time that understanding raises new questions of association, searching for a disquieting intimacy"

Man and Ground

Man and Ground | Anna Pietrzak

There is a constant presence in man’s life. The presence of ground
Ground is curved
Ground is fluid
Ground is surface
Ground receives man’s shadow
Ground receives man’s body.
Man knows ground through building Building is dialogue; a story that lives in work. Ground asks questions to building Building demands answers from ground
Architecture is language.

The Legitimization of Curiosity

The fantastic work of Jes Fomsgaard:

Jes Fomsgaard

About his artwork:

--- the drawing is the grammatical foundation of art.
The drawing is where the first ideas are disengaged.
It reveals the formal problem and the observation is taken over by the registration.
Devoid of "color" the sketch remains sober and forms its own order.
- Drawing is like dissecting - a legalization of curiosity.
Perspective cuts and markings the transparent body of the drawing visible.
In this very expressive language, full of information, the relation between the lines - or the lack of it - takes form.
A dialectical language.
The drawing is my analytical tool.
--- the grammatical foundation of art.

Topological Structures

Anatoly Fomenko

The crazy, fantastic world of Russian mathematician Anatoly Fomenko, better known for his revisionist theories on historical chronology. The following illustrations were for the novel The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov:

Anatoly Fomenko - Pontius Pilate before the Crowd
Anatoly Fomenko - The Roman troops Leave Calvary
Anatoly Fomenko - The Death of Yehuda
Anatoly Fomenko - The Execution of Yeshua

NB: In 1992 Fomenko became head of the Differential Geometry and Applications Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics at the Moscow State University... now that is a job title!

Settlements and City Strategies

A series of abstracted planimetric drawings and eerily-serene cityscapes that suggest the changing contours of urban settlements, by Illustrator/Designer Lekan Jeyifo:

The Central City Settlement - Settlements and City Strategies by Lekan Jeyifo
Urban Growth Strategy 01 - Settlements and City Strategies by Lekan Jeyifo

"They represent an idea of a degenerate futurism, yet one might find similar typologies and scenes in places such as the favelas of Brazil and North Africa, and in overpopulated cities such as Lagos, Mexico City, and Mumbai."
